The Elite & U19 Track National Championships is the pinnacle event for our top track cyclists. New Zealand's track cyclists are amongst the world's best and this event showcases some of the tremendous talent our country has. Olympic medallists, World Championship riders and World Cup riders will be lining up against our emerging future champions to race on the boards of the new Cycling Centre of Excellence, Avantidrome, Cambridge.
Entry forms have been sent to each Centre to circulate to Clubs. Riders must enter through their Clubs to register for the Elite & U19 Track National Championships. Completed entry forms, payment & team detail sheets must be submitted and received by BikeNZ before 5pm on 25 February 2014.
Avantidrome, The Home of Cycling – the National Cycling Centre of Excellence is a world class velodrome connected to world class facilities for BMX, road and mountain biking.
The Avantidrome opens in 2014 and the Elite & U19 Track National Championships will have the honor of being the first National Event held in the velodrome, the Home of Cycling will be a unique cycling environment where champions will inspire participation of everyday people.

The Elite & U19 Track National Championships will commence on Thursday 13th - Sunday 16th March 2014 at the Home of Cycling, Avantidrome, Cambridge.

Please note there is a restriction on the number of officials permitted entry into the venue. Each team will be permitted entry to the pit for x 1 Manager, x 1Coach and one additional handler per five riders. Details of officials must be entered on the team information sheet submitted with your entry form.
Please note there is an event in Karapiro during the weekend of the Track Championships, therefore there are limited accommodation options. Please see below for remaining motels with vacancies.
Public parking will be available on the St Peter's School football field (see map). Entry to this car park is via gold coin donation to help Hamilton Girls High 7’s Rugby team' travel to the World U20’s in Hawaii in June.
Public will be required to donate each time they enter the car park.
Spectator entrance to the venue will be on the North Side of the Avantidrome.
During the weekend there will be a number of events on at St Peter's School which will increase the traffic flow. Please keep speed to a minimum and be cautious when travelling around the school. Please also take care when entering and exiting the facility from SH1, especially at night.
The Elite & U19 Track National Championship Managers meeting will be held at 7.00pm on Wednesday 12th March in the Avantidrome, SH1, Cambridge. All Team Managers are required to attend this meeting. Confirmation of starters and scratching’s for the opening sessions should be made at this meeting. U Leisure and the Home of Cycling will also talk to you regarding how the event will run in the World Class Avantidrome.
Elite & U19 Team training sessions will be allocated in 2-hour blocks on Wednesday 12th March, the official track training day. Please contact Nicki Martin at Home of Cycling to request your preferred time.
There will be no charge for these training sessions.

The Elite Track National Championships event are UCI sanctioned races, and are subject to UCI rules.

Elite Races – riders must hold a current 2014 BikeNZ Race Elite, or Race Youth (U19 riders) membership.
